Children and Families Program
Art is a universal language that speaks to us all. At MACAM, children and families explore the world of contemporary art in a playful and interactive way. Through creative activities and guided tours, we stimulate curiosity and learning, emphasising that art can be a powerful tool for stimulating imagination and creativity.
Telephony and April Songs
The revolution is on the streets! Running away from a blue pencil is freedom, answering nostalgia is a letter from overseas, covering a rifle is a harpsichord, killing curiosity is an ear on the telephone, marking the awakening is the song that marches and announces a new day.
They say it was hard, but the teller of this story didn't live it, she's a child of the revolution and didn't feel it. In order to tell the story of 25 April, she collected memories here and there, sounds, letters, poems, songs and testimonies, which she now brings together to learn about and bear witness to the how and why of the revolution in shades of red.
At the end of the performance there is a small writing and music workshop, in which the voices-manifesto of the participants are joined by the song ‘Times change, wills change, times change, wills change’ by José Mário Branco.
Conception: Suzana Branco, Tânia Cardoso, Vera Alvelos
Interpretation and co-creation - Version with Live Music and Songs and Poetry Workshop: Tânia Cardoso and Rodrigo Crespo.
