Play Cart

The Play Cart is a travelling trolley created to provide a unique experience at MACAM, with playful and artistic activities inspired by the works in the exhibitions and other spaces in the museum. Participants can explore different forms of artistic expression, such as drawing, painting, collage, writing and acting. 

Every month, Play Cart moves on to a new theme, presenting fresh proposals and encouraging participants to return to the museum for future initiatives.

Just turn up and roll up your sleeves to experience art in a special way! A member of the MeP team will be waiting to surprise you.

The Power of the People: Protests That Changed the World

How does change begin? Perhaps it starts with the courage to imagine that things can be different. Over the course of three sessions at Play Cart, we used the book *The Power of the People: Protests That Changed the World* by Rebecca June as a starting point to discover stories of people who transformed reality through collective action. At the museum, we reflected on everyone’s right to make their voice heard and to participate in shaping the world they inhabit, because here, too, bridges are built, ideas are sown, and the future is imagined.

5 and 25th October| Salt March, Ghandi, India

In protest against a law that prohibited Indians from extracting or selling salt—making it so expensive that almost no one could afford it—Gandhi walked for 24 days to a salt mine, and thousands of people joined him to pick up from the ground, with their own hands, a handful of salt that defied an entire empire.
