The Great Songs of Pedro Puppe
Pedro Puppe was born in Lisbon in 1979, attended the Colégio Militar, and graduated in Architecture — he is a songwriter at heart.
As author and composer of the projects OIOAI and Miúda, he has performed on major stages, most notably at the Alive Festival.
Regarding his solo work, in 2011 he released his first album, Setembro — a collection of songs marked by genuine sensitivity; an introspective journey through life choices, flaws, and vulnerabilities, all set in a place where hope finds light, in a kind of joyful melancholy.
This was followed by Música Que Parece Que Foi Feita Para a Gente Ficar Ainda Pior ("Music That Feels Like It Was Made to Make Us Feel Even Worse"), recorded in a sort of “live-on-tape” session at the beloved and now-closed “saddest bar in the city.” A full-bodied album of songs and lyrics — the kind of deep, resonant writing Pedro delivers so well.
Pedro’s great songs have led him to collaborate with artists such as Ana Moura (Sophia Award for Best Original Song), Xutos e Pontapés, Tiago Bettencourt, Frankie Chavez, Diogo Piçarra, among many others.
At àCapela, we’ll hear some of Pedro’s finest songs — together with the artist himself and a few surprises along the way — songs from his life, and from the lives of people like us.
