Mariana Camacho (Funchal, 1993) is a musician, singer and artist whose work moves between genres, languages and creative forms, guided by curiosity and a compelling need to experiment. Classically trained in piano, with a career deeply rooted in singing, traditional music, improvisation and the performing arts, she has forged a distinctive path within Portugal’s independent scene, bringing together music, performance, theatre and dance.
After years of collaborating on a wide range of projects, she released her first solo work, O tempo de baixo o tempo de cima ou o mundo está a girar, on the Saliva Diva label in 2025.
Created over five years in home studios through a free and experimental process, the album combines electronic music, loops, traditional Madeiran singing, improvisation, and fragments of other songs and languages. It is a hybrid, restless and deeply personal sonic work that reflects on place, heritage, identity and the world.
