Accustomed to creating under the sign of sharing and freedom, pianist and organist Tiago Sousa presents his latest album Sustained Tones Vol. 1. Released by Sucata Tapes (UK), the album brings together six compositions driven primarily by a sonic approach for piano, electric organ, and tape loops. A dense, reverberant sound mass unfolds in continuous motion, with slow inspiration and suspended time. Music grounded in stillness, stretching into twilight harmonies and cyclical melodies.
In the second part of this concert celebrating an April morning, the Portuguese musician is joined by the voice of Marisa da Anunciação to revisit pieces from Coro das Vontades — a work of his authorship that reflects today’s political concerns — as well as several songs from the interventionist repertoire.
