At the invitation of Voces Caelestes, one of Portugal’s most acclaimed vocal ensembles, conductor Mariana Farah – a leading figure in Brazilian and American choral music – crosses the Atlantic bringing with her a wealth of beautiful songs.
From the unrivalled power of American spirituals to the infectious energy of traditional Brazilian songs, via works that set to music the texts of extraordinary poets such as Fernando Pessoa and Louise Bogan, this concert takes us on a beautiful journey, from north to south, through the most inspired choral music of the Americas.
An excellent opportunity, therefore, to hear some of the finest a cappella music written in Brazil and the USA over the last hundred years, performed by 16 outstanding singers, guided by the inspiring sensitivity of Mariana Farah.
