Ana Catarina Fragoso
Ana Catarina Fragoso was born in Lisbon, in 1984. She graduated in Fine Arts – Painting, in 2008, at the Fine Arts Faculty of the Lisbon University, and in Architecture Studies at the Architecture Faculty of the Lisbon University, in 2012. She is a Master in Visual Arts Teaching (2012) by the same University, and she participated in the Erasmus programme at Fakultät Bildende Kunst – Universität der Künste Berlin, Germany, between 2007 and 2008.
Her work involves the practice of painting, predominantly, with a sensorial and material approach to visual representation. Some of her frequent exhibitions include As Montanhas por entre os dedos, Galeria A. Molder, Lisbon, Portugal, 2021; Areia Líquida, Paços – Galeria Municipal de Torres Vedras, 2020; O Olhar Divergente, Arquipélago – Centro de Arte Contemporânea, Island of São Miguel, Azores, 2019; Casa-Pátio, Espaço Cultural das Mercês, Lisboa, 2016; Apreço, Zaratan, Lisbon, 2015.
She participated in the artistic residences Intercâmbio Artístico Lisboa-Budapeste, Budapest, Hungary (with the support of the Lisbon City Hall and the Budapest Galéria), 2019, and Pico do Refúgio, Island of São Miguel, Azores, Portugal, in 2019.
Her work is represented in the following collections: Pico do Refúgio, Budapest History Museum – International Collection and the Figueiredo Ribeiro Collection.
