Eugenio Merino
Eugenio Merino (1975, Madrid, Spain) studied at the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain. His work seeks to expose some of the uncomfortable and problematic realities of contemporary society, based on transdisciplinary work, capable of merging different means such as sculpture, painting, drawing, or installation. Merino works on subjects such as politics, religion and society, with the aim of making us doubt what is taken as truth. In this sense, he uses irony, humour, and metaphor to make art a space of thought and critical reflection.
Among the individual and group exhibitions in which he participated, stand out: Walking Together: For them and for us, ROFA projects, Virginia, USA (2020); This is America / Art in USA Today, KUNSTHAL KAdE, Amersfoort, Holland (2020); Der Kunst ihre Freiheit, Kunstverein Wiesbaden, Germany (2020); Parai´so, Museo DA2, Salamanca, Spain (2019); The Ends of Freedom, Halle 14, Leipzig, Germany (2019); Picasso et L’exile, Museo de Arte Les Abattoirs.
