Pedro Sequeira

Pedro Sequeira was born in Cinfães, Douro, in 1976. He presently lives and works in Lisbon. He studied jewellery and gemology in the city of Oporto between 1995 and 1998, and then entered the Akademie der Bildenden Künste, in Munich, Germany, as guest student for the maximum duration of studies (2001-2007) with Professor Otto Künzli. Between 2007 and 2009, he studied photography at the Portuguese Institute of Photography and later at the Fine Arts Faculty of the Oporto University (2009-2011), where he obtained the Masters in Drawing and Printing Techniques.



He shows his work regularly, from his most recent exhibitions, the following stand out: Stone Alive, Musée de Mineralogie, France, 2022; Pedro Sequeira, Galerie Marzee, Holland, 2021; Orange River, Sá da Costa Gallery, Lisbon, 2021; Triângulo, Brotéria, Lisbon, 2020; Spirits and Guardians, Gallery ATTA, Thailand, 2019 or Cuspir os dentes, Reverso Gallery, Lisbon, 2013



He writes regularly about the artistic practice for magazines and web platforms, and he developed the activity of speaker in various conferences and masterclasses. He recently became a teacher at Ar.Co – Art and Visual Communication Centre, in Lisbon. He was a grantee of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Contemporary Art Institute or Akademie Verein, in Munich, Germany. His work is represented in various collections, such Foundation Benetton, Italy, CAC Malaga, Spain or the Marcia and Luiz Chrysostomo Collection, Brazil.
