In 2014, Ana Vieira held her last solo exhibition - Inquietação
at Galeria Graça Brandão in Lisbon, presenting a set of four works related to the political and economic crisis of the time. Empty chairs arranged like in a waiting room, intervened photographs depicting gutted furniture, and a video of a little girl running uninterruptedly expressed a state of restlessness and unease in the face of this crisis.

- The drawing of the girl running away from her support
, a work originally intended to occupy one of the gallery's floors, is made up of three video projections, presented in a loop and without sound. A life-size figure of a teenage girl, drawn in pencil by the artist in a simple, stylised, almost childlike way, is projected onto three white walls, reminiscent of the series of men running in Muybridge's photographic tests, a reference in the creative process of this work.

The movement of this figure leaves behind a sequence of multiple figures, interrupted by architectural elements that force them in and out of the space. This continuum of fleeing girls reflects the desire to escape from a reality in crisis, which, according to the artist, “with no way out in sight, [...] leaves us little room to be whole people”, creating in the viewer a feeling of restlessness and a desire to join this character in her race.
