Fábio Colaço

Fábio Colaço was born in 1995 in the city of Lisbon, where he presently lives and works. He graduated in Sculpture from the Fine Arts Faculty of the Lisbon University, where he also completed a Masters in Performance and Installation. Between 2017 and 2018, through the Erasmus programme, he studied at the Munich Fine Arts Academy, Germany. His artistic practice encompasses several languages, such as Painting, Sculpture, Photography and Performance. He’s had regular solo and group exhibitions since 2015, namely: One Million, Appleton Box, Lisbon, 2020; Trabalho Capital # Greve Geral, Centro de Arte Oliva, São João da Madeira, 2020; 5 Años de Atelier Solar, Cruce, Madrid, Spain, 2019; I Will Take the Risk, Azan, Lisbon, 2018; Where Plato Taught, Franzensfeste/Fortezza, Bolzano, Italy, 2018; Jahresausstellung, Akademie der Bildenden Künst, Munich, Germany, 2017; In possível – com n…entrar na possibilidade, Arquipélago – Centro de Artes Contemporâneas, Açores, 2016. In 2016, he was nominated for the Prize Artes e Talentos, was the winner of the Revelation Prize D. Fernando II in 2017, and more recently, in 2019, he won the Prize Arte Jovem of the Milennium BCP Foundation.     His work is represented in various collections: CACE – Coleção de Arte Contemporânea do Estado, Collection of the Sintra Arts Museum, João Luís Traça Collection, Ângelo Silva and Paulo Damião Collection and José Carlos Santana Pinto Collection.
