Filipe Marques
Filipe Marques (Vila do Conde, 1976) graduated from the Fine Arts Faculty of the Oporto University, and he also attended the Kunstakademie, in Düsseldorf. From the beginning of the 2000’s his work has been shown regularly. From his exhibitions, the following stand out: Remarks on Colors, Wittgenstein (Cubic Gallery, Lisbon, 2002), the exhibition at Museo Archeologico Nazionale (Florence, 2007), Requiem by a Young Painter (Paço dos Duques, Guimarães, 2010), Art Now, Apocalypse Later (Museu Centro de Memória, Vila do Conde, 2011), Art Stabs Power, Qué se Vayan Todos (Bermondsey Art Project, London, 2014), Feel it, no Fear, The Yields and is Numb (Fernando Santos Gallery, Lisbon, 2017), Carnations and Velvet (Prague, 2019) and, more recently, And that’s What I Want to do, Tell your Wonderful Things (Espaço Mira, Oporto, 2020) and Anomie, Narcisism and Dispersion (CAA_IVV, Águeda, 2020). Using various media, Filipe Marques has been developing his work based on modern philosophical theories.
