The Brazilian city of São Paulo is the central point of the photographic series in which this work is included, and where André Cepeda stayed for three months. Within this context, the artist reveals his private gaze upon the territory, his discovery and geographic recognition, as well as the intimate connections created by the interaction with a previously unknown place. A referential space and important part of the series, from which it is titled, Stan Getz Street evokes the poetic musicality of the American saxophone player, propagator of the Bossa-nova musical movement; in an attentive, curious, and vivified way, Cepeda convokes in the photographic work multiple impressions of the space, of its movement, its aromas, sounds, colours and matters. The framework of this piece, the ample view on the metropolis with a soft demarcation from the horizon, seems to privilege its almost sculptural dimension, the interaction of planes, the shapes and contours resulting from the multiple buildings and streets, where an immense and silent orange fog builds up. The orange colour, from a filter, creates a subjective ethereal atmosphere, in which the possible inebriating heat sensation and the stridency of light and colour seem to summon a sensorial experience. The emotion that may emerge and lives inherent to the image displayed, appeals to the infinite possibilities of its apprehension and discovery of the city.
